Cabela's Retail, Inc is hiring a Operations Manager for our New Retail Showroom in Grand Junction, Colorado to open in 2010. This position is a critical link to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity for all outdoor enthusiasts.

- Responsible for smooth and efficient operation of the retail store
- Supervises daily activities of store personnel
- Assists with various aspects of customer sales
- Through each department manager, supervises daily activities of all sales support teams: customer service, human resources, security, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and food service
- Troubleshoots and solves daily issues and problems
- Completes performance appraisals
- Assists with interviewing, selection, training, staffing, promotions, coaching, and discipline of employees as needed
- Communicates with managers and other divisions as needed regarding questions and concerns
- Prepares reports and attends management meetings to ensure retail objectives are met
- Monitors the stores expense budgets, payroll, and sales forecasts
- Assists retail assistant managers with supervising daily activities of retail personnel by assigning work and checking work for accuracy
- Prepares store for daily opening and closing
- Ensures maintenance and cleanliness of building and grounds
- Ensures proper display of merchandise on the sales floor
- Assists with customer sales
- Provides assistance to customers by locating and explaining merchandise, answering questions, and resolving common problems
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
This position requires:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus five years of advanced operational retail management experience
- Knowledge of company products both technically and as it applies to customers specific needs
- Knowledge of basic retail sales practices and principles
- Skill in operating personal computer and various software packages
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees as well as outside community.
- Ability to build a cohesive team
- Ability to effectively function as a team player
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Appreciation and/or knowledge of hunting, fishing, and outdoor sports
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
- Looking for a solutions-oriented individual who possesses the ability to handle complex customer issues in a diplomatic manner
- Must be a Customer Service oriented team player and have the ability to pay close attention to detail
- Strong Verbal & Written communication skills
- Must be able to work the following: at least 3 out of 4 weekends a month; any day, including holidays; opening and closing shifts
